《AshesCricket2009》為玩家帶來最地道的「Ashes」體驗而無需穿上他們的白色運動服。
提供所有刺激、活躍、巧妙、技術等元素的運動，遊戲綜合「Ashes」模式特色，全部五場對
抗賽進行在精緻詳細的每一個真實的娛樂場所。除此之外，玩家還可以參加測試賽，國際一
日賽，超過20種遊戲形式和一系列的挑戰模式。

英格蘭和澳大利亞之間舉行的板球系列對抗賽被稱作「灰燼杯」（TheAshes）。此項系列賽
的獎盃是一座小而易碎的陶質骨灰甕。此獎盃是在1882/83屆英格蘭板球隊在澳大利亞獲勝之
後，一群墨爾本婦女向當時的英格蘭隊長艾弗‧布萊（IvoBligh）贈送的，據說裡面裝有兩
隊在第二屆對抗賽時使用的一塊三柱門橫木或一隻板球的灰燼。此項賽事現在仍在舉辦，每
兩年左右一次，是世界上最負盛名的板球賽。
